Contemporary 3
This course is meant for those with many years of dance experience and the knowledge of dance techniques. It will cover more complex elements of the contemporary dance technique, with the focus on building the awareness of the whole body through given exercises, improvisation, work in pairs and creative work. The classes will include exercises for strengthening the core and complex dance techniques based on movement through space. Dance sequences will develop fluidity, endurance, dynamics and initiation of the movement.

Teacher: IDA JOLIĆ
Ida Jolić (1989, Zagreb). In 2011, Ida started her dance education in Tanzfabrik in Berlin, where she worked with the international pedagogues and choreographers. She continued her professional development at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, where she gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Pedagogy. As a dancer she danced in various Croatian and international productions. In 2015 she choreographed and performed a short solo within the Break a leg TASK LAB at the Platform of Young Choreographers Festival. In 2019, she created and performed a dance performance ‘Transformers’ with Marin Lemić, winning two awards of the Croatian Dancers’ Association: for the best performance and for the best choreography (with Marin Lemić). For the last nine years, Ida has been working as a contemporary dance teacher, holding workshops and classes for professional dancers. She is a member of the Croatian Dancers’ Association and the Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association. Since autumn 2018, she has been working as an artistic assistant at the Dance Department of the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. In 2019, she became a member of the Contemporary Dance Studio.
