Two Festivals and Premiere Performance in Spetember
The middle of September in the Zagreb Dance Center brings even two festivals, the premiere performance of MONUMENTS by the theater company DE FACTO and the residency performance of REM by Ida Jolić.
Part of the repertoire of the 57th PIF International Puppet Theater Festival will take place in the premises of the Zagreb Dance Center from September 15th to 17th, while Sounded Bodies festival organized by the Domino Association, from September 19th to 21st, will bring three performances – The Power of Voice (Snaga Glasa), Voice of NA! (Glas NA!) and Here We Dance Again.
Between reality and illusion, dreams are allegories of the subconscious created by automatic processing of information. While we sleep, we dream. We live some parallel lives. The disparity of the paralyzed, sleeping body in waking life and the “aliveness” of sleep creates a simulacrum of wakefulness. Layering becomes a source of inspiration. This is the topic brought to us in REM residential performance
September will conclude with the premiere performance of MONUMENTS – an interdisciplinary performance for five young dancers that combines contemporary dance and experimental club music through an artistic exploration of history and cultural heritage under the creative direction of Zagreb composer Nikola Krgović (pseudonyms N/OBE) and with the choreography and dramaturgy of Saša Božić. Conceived as part of the transmedia expansion of N/OBE’s as yet unreleased contemporary electronic music album of the same name, the show is designed around six regional modernist monuments of the National Liberation Struggle.
