THIS ONE: MISERICORDIA

This One: Misericordia is the first in a trilogy of dance works This One that explore how to stage questions surrounding the idea of life and death within the theatrical context.

This One: Misericordia is a dance performance in which artists deal with the question of what it means to live and die in the context of a performance. To address this subject through dance, they use the “Requiem in D minor, K.626” (1791) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as a choreographic starting point. Attempting to find the place and answers in their artistic interests, the dancers exhaust not the very idea of the work’s topic, but rather their own capacities of focusing on it.

„Oro supplex et acclinis,

cor contritum quasi cinis,

gere curam mei finis.“
