SOUNDS LIKE PEPPER

A vocal-dramatic project that engages performers through the exploration of the urge to scream—both within and outside oneself—while empathetically observing the world.
Vocal play, resonance, and listening in space; a series of intimate statements, multiplied through listening, hearing, and understanding others. Observation through the skin.
The corporeality of the collective female psyche shaped by insights and predictions that are felt, experienced and known, potentially dangerous, painful and healing—that can bring peace or at least calm and understanding, despite fragmentation.
The performance is atmospheric, acoustically delicate, chiaroscuro-lit, non-verbal yet vocal, with very few words. Performers engage in a dual-layered play: collectively observing both distance and proximity while presenting fragile individual narratives.

A bearded woman sits at the center of the stage on a low chair, smoking a pipe. Silence. Observation. Everything unfolds as it should. She knows. Occasionally, something startles her. She is not surprised.
