FAIRY TALES IN DRAG

The Queer Zagreb Season takes you into a colorful and fairy-talelike world of drag with a program for the youngest, Fairy Tales in Drag. In this pioneering project, the local group of drag queens gathered in the House of Flamingo group read the queer fairytales and picturebook of the Croatian organisation for LGBT families. For all the queer princesses and princes and all the other members of the rainbow color nobility!

House of Flamingo is a queer arts collective that has been active on Zagreb’s independent cultural and queer scene since 2013. The primary mission of the collective is to create, strengthen and to expand drag culture and queer performances in Zagreb, but also throughout the region. Through their work, they want to bring queer culture back to the community, with the goal of further emancipation and empowerment in a society where freedom of gender expression and sexual identity and practices are increasingly affected by negativity, hate and mockery. House is a liquid creative space, currently consisted of 4 drag performers and other collaborators – Spazam Orgazam, Roxanne, Colinda Evangelista and Entity (better known under the acronym S.R.C.E.).
