DANCESCOPE – Love Will Tear Us Apart
To dance (to) popular music: commonplaces and individual (hi)stories
Do contemporary dance works encourage enjoying in dancing and watching dance? What are the responsibilities of the viewer in the act of performing? Do music hits trigger collective memory? These are some of the questions we will talk about with Saša Božić and Petra Hrašćanec, the authors of Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Dancescope program is designed as a series of encounters with the audience in order to strengthen the dialogue between the dance artists and the spectators, and offer a framework for more intensive reflection on dance due to its transformative and emancipatory potential. Dancescope includes talks about performances, thematic discussions, presentations of authors and contexts of other European scenes and recent literary works on dance. Author of program is dance critic and theorist Ivana Slunjski.
